Visit the Tutankhamun Exhibition in Florence!

Min. reading

A few steps from our Hotel Il Guelfo Bianco, the exhibition of Tutankhamun’s “Journey to eternity” is an opportunity to get to know the myth of this ancient Egyptian king who has greatly influenced the western world.

“Journey to eternity” is open until June 2, 2020 in the spaces of the splendid Palazzo Medici Riccardi, in particular in the admirable Galleria delle Carrozze.

Curated by Maria Cristina Guidotti, already collaborator of the famous Egyptian Museum in Turin, the exhibition was appreciated by tens of thousands of people in USA and in South America, enchanted by the undisputed charm of the Egyptian civilization.

In Palazzo Medici Riccardi, unique reperts await you, some reproduced in 3D and through virtual reality, in order to build a bridge to new technologies and make an already exciting experience interactive and stimulating.

Virtual reality will take you by the hand to the excavation site up to the pharaoh’s tomb, a realistic experience that you will live through a simple viewer and an easy-to-use controller for everyone.

Entering the tomb of Tutankhamun and the maze of its secrets, means understanding and deepening inescapable themes such as life and death, the afterlife and its mysteries, interpreted by man over three thousand years ago.

Tutankhamun’s tomb was discovered on November 4, 1922 by Howard Carter; the tomb is famous for being the only one able to reveal how a pharaoh was buried with his trousseau – including the canopic jars that contained his organs – his mask, and other objects that accompanied him on his last trip.

In addition, the tomb and its discovery showed the world the treasure room with the solid gold throne and the statue of Anubis, protector of the world of the dead. A show that left all visitors from all countries and backgrounds speechless. Don’t miss it!

Palazzo Medici Riccardi is one of the symbols of Florence, located a few steps away from the Hotel Il Guelfo Bianco, more precisely just 170 meters!

The cost of the ticket is € 13.00 (reduced € 10.00).

Book your stay in Florence and enjoy the exhibition!
